About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Tribe 180 was founded by Tori McCarthy, a passionate advocate for group facilitation and a firm believer in the healing power of community.

Our Story

Since the beginning of time, humans have recognized the profound healing and transformative power of coming together in a circle, in community, with tribe. Tribe 180, a collective of therapists dedicated to bringing their wisdom, experience, and unwavering belief in the power of group to the wider community. Our mission is to help break the isolation that many feel in today's society and create spaces where individuals can find their tribe, heal, and connect.

At Tribe 180, we have developed a diverse range of offerings to support this transformative process. Our workshops, groups, courses, intensive programs and gatherings provide opportunities for individuals to come together, explore shared experiences, and engage in transformative connections. These spaces foster connection, understanding, and growth, allowing participants to feel seen, heard, and valued for who they truly are.

Many people spend waisted time, money and energy searching for the right therapist, group or way to connect and find themselves just trying out things hoping for the best.

Tribe 180 is dedicated to supporting people to find their tribe and individual ways to heal.

Psychotherapist/Counsellor

Tamara is a trauma-informed counsellor/psychotherapist who works with men and women experiencing addiction and other mental health issues.

Tamara holds a Graduate Diploma in Counselling and is a PACFA certified practicing counsellor. Her practice is based in a neuroscientific framework which includes psychoeducation, safety, self-regulation, and a process known as memory reconsolidation, which has been evidentially shown to dissolve the built-in embodiment of shame, anger and other unresolved emotional issues.

Before becoming a counsellor, Tamara worked for many years in the corporate sector. As a strategic thinker, Tamara is alarmed that so little is being done to address the mental health needs of domestic violence offenders. Having identified this very big gap in the system and having worked predominantly with men over the years, Tamara is now devoted to helping end violence against women by being available to work with those who perpetrate the violence.
